Tarmo Peltokoski has a Finnish father and a Filipino mother. At the age of 14, he was already under the wing of legendary pedagogue Jorma Panula, who was also the mentor of star conductor Klaus Mäkelä. He describes his relationship with Wagner as an obsession. This is music to our ears, so we will be seeing him perform this repertoire often, as his career is really taking off. In Brussels, the 25-year-old captain of the ship demonstrated his steering skills with the oldest piece of the Wagner canon, and he did so with such natural flair that it was as if he had done nothing else in recent years.
